Oh my, I’m super behind

Part of the drawback of this blogzine being a 100% D.I.Y. effort, is that it’s hard to find people willing to work/write for the same amount that I make. Which is pretty much nothing after the hosting bills are paid, I took the ads out awhile ago to take the pressure off of blogging. Not that there ever was really any pressure, But at the time, I was busy with other things.
I really wish I could get some decent help around here. My girlfriend helps me with grammar type things, but she does enough writing in school that she probably doesn’t see maintaining a blogzine as fun.
I recently stepped up my game and I have a ton emails about bands that need press, and I am more than happy to write about the ones I enjoy, but it makes it a lot harder to write from the heart, about music I love.
Instead of talking about the Bauhaus or Tones On Tail or some other old band that doesn’t make records anymore, I find myself saying: “oh I’ll just wait till they re-unite”. Because so many damn bands re-unite, or finallly get all of their original members back. I tried to alleviate that with the late pass reviews, but it mostly ended up being an outlet for the stuff I missed the first time around.
So anyways, I’ve picked a couple of lossies for ya’ll to enjoy. The first one is an Aesop Rock tune with El-p adlibing. Numero dos is a semi-rare cover of an opera song “O fortuna” which I believe is from Carmina Burana or something though I possess neither the will nor the care to fact check that one so don’t file that under “jeopardy knowledge”.Oh yeah, it’s by Botch. Last but not least we have a track by an east coast band called Wisdom in Chains who was name dropped in the Blood For Blood interview I posted a couple last week. It’s been one of my favorite jams recently.
