New Media Tuesdays 1/15/07
I used to call this section “New Crap Tuesdays” before I accidently lost my whole website (a couple years of work) and I’m bringing it back only when there is stuff worth buying/checking out.
Music
Maroon – The Cold Heart of The Sun (Century Media) German Metalcore with shreds galore. Ha ha I rhymed.
Trash Talk – Plagues (Malfunction Records) New ep from these Sacramento hardcore kids. I haven’t had a chance to listen to this in much detail but so far it sounds like previous efforts.
El Cerdo – Our Bellies Sluggish With Goat Meat (Debello Records) Early Mastodon meets Neurosis. Dissonant and dark. Probably the best unheardof band around and the best release this week. Strangely enough, they are playing in my friends basement this friday. Oh and their name means “the pig”
DVD
The Ten
Directed by David Wain of “The State” and “Stella” fame. The Ten is short for the 10 commandments and was heavily panned by critics who I believe just don’t understand absurdist humor.
Extras – The Complete Series
Ricky Gervais is very funny in this show but I just could never really get into it.
