Muxtape

Ahh, the mighty mixtape, quite the staple of days past, but the last time I made anyone a mixtape on actual tape was a really long time ago. I probably made it for my friend Jami because I used to spend a great deal of time in her car and she was always down to listen to whatever. I was just getting back into strait forward rock formatted music after listening to drum and bass, breakbeat, hard techno and hip hop exclusively, save Fugazi and a handful of punk bands from my teenage years.
Yep, I was a raver. I dressed in gigantic clothing and would spend entire nights dancing to all kinds of repetitive racket. I still listen to some of that music as I have some friends in the scene that DJ and they send me mixes and I have gone to a few events but the last time I went was more than a year ago. I haven’t been back because I’m choosing to do different things with my time and I think there still is a lot of good music coming out . If you are into that sort of thing I do suggest you check out Dancefloor Mayhem, a Portland blog written by DJ Tronic, a DJ for over 10 years.
Many DJ’s have a idea of the set they are going to play and you could almost consider EDM DJ’s as people who make mixtapes for a living. In fact they makes mixes to be downloaded off the Internet all the time. Here is one my friend Chris made. He goes by the name of Quickster and plays dnb.
Quickster – For You
I have made mixes of sorts, like my valentines day megapost and my sisters birthday megapost. I burned my girlfriend a couple mix CDs before we got together but that was over a year ago.
So anyways, here is my Muxtape. I have to admit, I threw it together superfast because it was for a thread on a music blogger discussion forum. Maybe I’ll tweak it later when I get all my work done.
