Indie Labels Not Liking Filesharing
Many downloaders justify getting music and movies by telling themselves that it’s ok because they aren’t hurting anyone but large corporations. But what about when you download something more underground? Well those same people may say that they would have never heard of a band or even checked em out had they not been able to download first equating downloading to the same thing as when blockbuster used to open CD’s and let you listen to them at a listening station.
But Deep Elm, 31g, Ninja Tune, Lookout! and Revelation all say that the practice is hurting their bottom line.
Some people think the industry is changing, some people think the industry needs to adapt to the 21st century. I think people buy what they can and prices should come down. You should attend concerts and buy merchandise. If you download something and listen to it more than a few times, maybe you should buy it.
