Agoraphobic Nosebleed – Agorapocalypse Review

Listen to the new Agoraphobic Nosebleed album Agoraapocalypse right now. It’s the fastest 28:40 seconds ever. 13 tracks ranging from 57 seconds to a couple over 3 minutes long. Not too many breakdowns as in practically none.
Some extremely fast music becomes kind of ignorable and loses sight of it’s intentions. Everything on here is blazing fast and even the breakdowns feel very rushed, but at the same time they posses a tightness unlike any other but that probably has to do with the fact that a drum machine is used for the drums. But you can barely tell.
While drum machines as the primary drums in a metal setting is not unique in itself, these drums are pretty much the upper echelon of programming not because of doing things that humans aren’t capable of doing, but for sounding like a real drummer playing a real drumset. Something I have been trying to master for about 4 years now.
This album has some Botch influenced sounds in there too and what I would call a very refined version of powerviolence. I hate the genre name powerviolence. To me it just screams “jock with an attitude” or something. Alot of ANB reviews have to use the word violence in them making me think that people are drawing parallels with Charles Bronson(the band). Take it as you will this this album is violent and feels like ultra tight hardcore more than metal.
This is raw.
Agoraphobic Nosebleed Skateboards are coming out soon… I don’t know if would ride mine, I’d rather hang it on the wall.
