Under the Dog(UTD) is a webzine with a simple ideal. That it’s hard to be successful without the backing of the corporate media machine. Even then you are likely to still get a raw deal. To be independent of the majors puts you at a severe disadvantage. So we have taken the time to give a small nudge to the underdog. To help give a little beacon of light to any artist worth their salt.
We post mp3s respectfully and never give out whole albums and respect all artists wishes. If at all possible, we try to use approved promotional mp3s and always post music we own already.
It is done to spread the word about artists and is done out of respect and personal admiration. That is why I try my hardest to post buy links to the artists music.
Just remember, if one of the tracks I post end up on someone’s ipod, you have just gained a fan without having to do anything.
