Weekend Fun: Christians

April 30th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Unclassifiable

I don’t consider myself  to be a smug atheist, I don’t have anything against people who choose to practice religions of any kind.

With that said this video made me actually laugh out loud during the last minute and a half.

This one is kinda strange. I don’t think this lady wanted to be filmed.

Daft Punk Live @ Cochella 2006

I’ve never been to a giant festival like cochella. Unless you count Warped Tour when I was 16. This excellent quality soundboard recording will have to make do for now.  If you have always liked but never had any of their music, this would be a very good introduction.

Alliance p2p

April 29th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Unclassifiable

Get Alliance

Alliance works like limewire, or like a network drive. The one advantage is that you are only sharing with the people you invite. This makes the likelihood of getting fake files & virus’ decrease somewhat.

I don’t know if communities even exist for networks running Alliance but I bet one is out there. I haven’t tried it yet but if anyone wants to try a network out let me know.

April Month in Review

April 29th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Unclassifiable

This month started with a period of downtime due to some upgrades on my hosts end, but things have ended up for the better.

Then Charlton Heston had to go and die.

Free albums. 100% legal.

Muxtape became hip.

Charlie Daniels is not down with Guitar Hero.

Rival Schools reformed.

Very unique piece of Slayer memorabilia.

"Bostons",preview track from new Have Heart album

April 28th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Music

Of Course it’s on their Myspace, but who needs that when I have it right now? The new album is called  Songs To Scream At The Sun and is out on July 8th so I hope this can tie you over in the meantime. The song Bostons is stand up to say the least. I hope the new album is as strong as this track.

Bonus Video @ United Blood 2008, Richmond, VA

I just love watching videos where the whole crowd is screaming along.  At about 8 minutes everyone goes crazy and they have to kick every one off the stage, but it lasts only a few seconds and by the end… well, just watch.

This is of medium quality. It’s nice to hear that the more technical bands can pull it off live.

Enjoy

I got distracted with these videos and I felt I should share.

High School Yearbook Containing Photos of Slayer from 1982 in Ebay Auction

April 21st, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Music

Let me just begin this post by saying this: It is completely embarassing that I have not written a damn thing about Slayer ever.

This truly is rock and roll history. user “headbangingcholo” has “recently experienced a streak of bad luck and realized that I will be living like a gypsy for a few years” and is selling a ton of stuff including his high school yearbook.

I imagine most people who went to high school that year and still have their yearbook would want to keep it, especially if it was their senior year . Not every high school yearbook contains a profile on a band and I highly doubt very many have achieved the fame or success as Slayer.

Since the photos are from 1982(the year I was born), that makes them 25 years old. Probably the earliest promo photos that exist.
